It's weird, one thing being back in America. I've noticed that I look at the food here and sorta cringe and go "we eat this stuff?" and my nose wrinkles up as I try and search for healthier solutions. I forsee a lot of veggies, fruit and yogurt in my future. ^^;

I ate so little in Japan, too (and apparently lost weight) but it's still seeing all the junk food here and I shake my head.

I have to admit, the lack of seafood makes me incredibly happy as well.

and yes, some junk food is good. Like that delicious pie that I've been snacking on.

*jumps in*

Pouch Tuna and Cup o Tuna is the bomb. Have you tried it?! On Spicy Sweet Doritos, its even better.

Which I was totally eating before the 'spicy tuna roll' comment but then that just gave it more fun to eat it.

How are you dealing with portion sizes?

. . . Does Japan do doggie bags? Europeans tend to think Americans eat these maaaaaaaaassive portions because they don't realise it's usual to take some of it home with you.

I felt the same way when I came back from Peru. I was like, "Dude, where's the rice? Freshly picked mangoes? Anything fresh?"

Not so much.

I think part of the problem is that fresh foods are so much more expensive than boxed stuff. In Peru it was the other way around. Ramen and other convenience foods are expensive delicacies, and rice, fruits, and veggies are staples. I'll bet you anything that if that sort of economic situation existed here in the states, people would be a heck of a lot healthier.

I know. It's sad. >.< That's why some states are trying to ban fast food.

But hey, there's always chunk white tuna in a pouch or cup! That is one of the best inventions in the world. Tuna you don't have to drain and can keep in your desk drawer, OMG.

I ♥ Tuna. =^..^=

But there are salads and deli sammies. Those are decent enough. But not enough rice... ; . ;
