Put under a cut for those that don't care to read it.
While everyone is entitled to their opinion, the recent article was lacking in common courtesy. Where is the data that states that a same sex couple cannot raise a child together just as well as a heterosexual couple can? It's said that 'even the worst heterosexual couple' can do a better job. Where is the proof of this?
Just because a person loves someone of the same gender as they are, it doesn't make them immoral or not knowing good from evil, as was insinuated in the article. Homosexuality is NOT based on that principle. These people were raised the same way many people in this town were raised, and you don’t choose your sexuality at birth. It’s the way you are created. There was a study in 1993 by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) indicates that there is a correlation between a specific chromosomal region in human males and homosexuality.
There are many more evils of the world than two people of the same gender loving each other. Wives get beaten, children get raped, and yet—apparently this is okay because these people aren’t gay. These people know the ‘cornerstone’ of our society and how to raise a family. I think the statistics need to be looked at again, and then a much different story will be seen.
Marriage isn’t entirely about procreation. It’s about love and trust, finding a life partner and staying with them. It shouldn’t be assumed that just because you are homosexual that you are promiscuous, liable to cheat on your partner at any time. If that’s an issue that wants to be brought up, then look at all the ‘standard’ marriages that are broken up because one partner cheated on the other. There shouldn’t be any difference between a homosexual couple and a heterosexual couple. Same-gender pairings should be allowed the same opportunities as hetero pairings. No one has the right judge one another in that respect, and just because they are homosexual, doesn’t mean they are a lesser being. Treat them like you would want yourself treated. It’s the Golden Rule.
