if this person can't understand your feelings then i don't think they were really your friend in the first place. It totally sucks but personally, i think you should just let it go for now.
But, then again, maybe they just need some distance right now. If this person has loved you for a long time then maybe they need some time away from you to get those feelings under wrap.
