has made me wonder what type of person I am. I'm getting annoyed at the fact that it's "9-1-1" I mean, the lives that were lost is tragic. I cannot express enough how deeply I feel about the losses. But to exploit it and make it so that it gets to be a hinderance. Every channel has pictures of the tragedy. Burning buildings wherever I see. But... what happened earlier today was all that was needed. The bells ringing at the times the towers fell, and the reading of the names. The scenes didn't need to be shown again. Bringing up things like that is only trying to gain something off of what obviously was not needed to be pressed upon people.
We are supposed to be a strong nation. We are supposed to overcome what happened to us. But how are we overcoming it if we keep on dwelling on what's happened? That's what's been happening for the last year. I live near a military base and it was only a few months ago that they went off Alpha--a heightened state of security. The terrorists are winning in this way. They are making us always think about what has happened. Always searching, looking behind our backs for the next strike. That doesn't make us strong, it makes us paranoid.
I'm not a bad person. I love this country and the freedom it entails us. I actually like the new commericals. ^^ Reminds me of a video I watched way back when... about our rights and how we take them for granted. We should focus on that, and the choices we have, then look for the shadows behind the corner and the things that happened to realize our mortality.
